Oh fer G*ds sake...
Apr. 29th, 2005 12:20 pmToday, I appear to be a complete & utter f**king moron - moreso than usual, even. I've been asked to compare 2 sets of numbers & work out why there are differences & I've spent the entire morning comparing several other completely irrelevant sets of numbers, despite several meetings that point me in the right direction, including 2 that have gone through, in great detail, exactly what I was meant to be comparing. Yes, my boss is now not too pleased with me - and quite right too. I've lost paper files, deleted *essential* documents off the system (retrieved thanks to the mercy of the IT gods), thrown out audit evidence (only to retrieve it from the bin, fortunately) and I am sure that there are a host of other things that I've done incorrectly or badly that I've just not noticed yet.
I'm not normally this flat-out dumb. Its either the cats fault, for keeping me up all night (attacking my feet & generally being a pest), or its the fact that I'm so close to the long weekend that I'm just not concentrating. Irrespective of whos fault it is (and I suspect its mine, pure & simple) I feel as though I'd loose a battle of wits with my stapler, right now.
Ah well. Not much longer to get through... As long as I sit here, fingers in my ears, eyes closed humming loudly to myself, nothing can possibly go wrong.
Either that, or I actually manage to get a grip.
