Friday so far...
Jun. 10th, 2005 12:02 pmLast nights use of the electric razor has left my face feeling as though I used sandpaper on it, but at the same time, I don’t have my 5pm-shadow-at-11am, so that’s some good. I think. If only the itching scraping sensation would end…
Last nights intended house cleaning, otoh, was less successful. Being pestered by the cat who wanted to have attention, be picked up, sit on my shoulder, sit down & generally purr at me was most distracting. So much so that I was simply forced to give up on the bulk of the cleaning, put “The Incredibles” on & act as a cat conveyancing creature for the bulk of the night, cos she mewled at me most piteously. Gosh darn it, but she’s a lazy creature.
In other news, the girl is still in France, and is giving a presentation to a packed room, probably as I write this. She had intended to be there as moral support for the presenter, but she’s been rapidly promoted, cos the person who was meant to do it has called in sick (its his heart, apparently – not a good sign). So I got a rather wibbly phone call at 7-30am (8-30am her time) from her along the lines of “oh my god I’m really nervous!”. Not surprising, but its good for her career, so she has all my support.
Tonight sees me running a bowling night / lottery / leaving do for Leeds BSAC. It was originally going to be C & myself, but C, in true fashion has got a friend turning up tonight, so is flying into Leeds at 5pm, bowling for 7 and then picking said friend up at 10. As hectic schedules go, its pretty much the life of an international jet-setter. Which means that she cant drink, and I’ve just got to. Again Gosh darn it.
