Found out that I had b*ll*xed up the flight booking, so I'm now arriving in Leeds tomorrow evening, rather than tomorrow morning, which has kind-of set my day on edge, as you can imagine. A whole day of holiday, house sorting-out, doctors appointment, opticians appointments & general "wandering around Leeds" vanishing in a splattering of incompetence on my part. Great. Way to go me.

And then the day of getting stuff done; to be fair, a lot of what had to be done was on the cards, but its been very busy - made even more so by the fact that tomorrow & all next week, my boss is off. So everything on his "to do" list, suddenly heaved into view on my "to do" list - a task that was justified by the explanation of "well, you'll be here tomorrow to do it all"; all true, but hardly helping to improve matters any. Given that I've barely scratched the surface of my stuff, well, lets put it this way: he's going to be disappointed when he comes back.

Then I came home, and C convinced me to have a go on an on-line dutch learning course. I appreciate that its actually a really good course (and free), but its just not what my tired, achey brain wanted to deal with after a long day. For those of you who want a peep, the course is here: http://www.taalklas.nl. If you do develop a sudden desire to learn Dutch, then you have to log-on through the 'aanmelden' button, where you have to choose a user name & then it'll give you a password. Its not particualrly work-friendly, cos its got a lot of audio associated with it, but *shrug* for those of you languo-philes out there (pervs!) it might give you something to do. Possibly.

So thats it. The real high-point of the day was at lunchtime where I cleaned a shop completely out of Apfelkorn & had to explain that I wasn't an alcoholic to the man behind the counter, who had obviously never sold that much hard(ish) alcohol in a single setting before. Some might say thats disturbing. I call it progress.
