General Life update
Dec. 2nd, 2005 11:57 amWell, its been a week of achievements. The games doing stuff & some players have been arranged, my CPD return was sent off last night (a month early – woot!), the month-end reports were done (and went remarkably smoothly, I might add – I’m glad to see that I’ve managed to get that element of the month-end process down pat just in time for it to be changed to another one next month), my relocation expenses have been sent and the letter for the reduced tax rate has now been sent off (but not approved). All in all, lots of niggling little things have either been resolved, dealt with, or are going relatively well.
This Saturday afternoon/evening, Caroles mum is coming over to stay for a while (which will be good), so tonight I’m going to be mainly cleaning the house. Vacuum-cleaning ahoy! Still, it will be good to have more people in the house, especially as she phoned us last night to give us some good news about Caroles grandmother: apparently the tests on “the lump” have come back & it turns out that its not cancerous, after all. So much much much good news.
Also, this Saturday early afternoon, C & I are going to a games day in town centre, to see if we can track down some more role-players; this is the place that I went to several months ago, only to find a room full of people playing Magic: the Addiction, so I’m none too happy about the prospects for success on this front. And on Sunday, I go for a run. Which I am none to certain about, but it involves beer afterwards, so its probably for the best.
In about a weeks time, 2 of my sisters are going to visit Amsterdam, but, as they have inherited part of my families genetic inability to travel without stressing and/or loosing the plot when they do stuff, the jury remains out when they will actually come over! As an example, I point out that my sister has in the past booked, and, crucially, paid for, flights, and then never taken them; once, I could excuse, but I know that she has done this at least 3 or 4 times now – and not only relatively cheap flights to Europe, I’m talking about trans-Atlantic trips to the states…
The weather remains significantly unpleasant, though; last night in particular saw me cycle through the freezing cold, with a really heady rucksack from the shopping. Every speed-bump & jolt was like a hammer blow, and even this morning, I still ache. If British weather is anything like this, then you all have my sympathy.
