What happened to the rest of the week?

Aside from mild confusion (me thinking that it was, in fact, Wednesday), life remains pretty darn good. The weather remains pleasant, I have a 3 day week next week, followed by a 4 day long weekend that I'm definitely looking forward to. Tonight Carole, myself & Mr Albrecht are (probably) going to be eating a fondue (sp?), washed down with several bottles of wine (Carole instructed me to get no less than 4 bottles, which I think is a bit much. I cant drink more than a single bottle on a school night!) and perhaps boardgames of some variety might be played...

Speaking of wine, I happened upon an article in USA today about a week ago (brought into the office by a colleague who happened to get the paper randomly one day) and was speechless with delight at the comment section. Essentially the editorial went on about how 'Liberal wine-drinkers were corrupting this Great Republic of ours' and how 'Sideways' was 'a manifestation of Holywoods embrace of alcohol peddlers, as the price of bottles goes down and the alcohol content goes up'. He also then launched into a tirade against Opera ('fat people singing', not Winfrey), because it was corrupting our morals, as a high-school had the timerity to let 16 year-olds read Faust, which was blatantly evil incarnate. Lastly, he rounded up thrashing against golf players, who were, um, somthing to do with China, but I couldn't quite get the gist of it. Very entertaining indeed. And - here's the rub - he was ENTIRELY SERIOUS.

Scary, eh?
