Had a mixed but generally pleasant weekend; Caroles parents were over & her dad & friends went off to watch motorbikes on Saturday morning, whilst I, C & C’s mum & I went & did stuff. On Saturday it was decided that we’d go to the museum, but in the end we never got there – instead we had an ADVENTURE! We got near the museum & then we went on some free ferry trips across the harbour. On finding ourselves at a restaurant, we had a meal. We then noticed that there was a bus stop on the other side of the road. So we got on & went to find out where we came out. Several hours later, we arrived back at Amstel bus station. It was most enjoyable and - more importantly – spontaneous.

On Sunday we went to Eindhoven, the place where C spends a lot of her time these days. Its very reminiscent of Nottingham or Cambridge – in that its flat, has assimilated local villages in its inexorable growth, is very renovated (with some old bits) & a regional capital, but (unlike Nottingham or Cambridge) its possibly a bit too new to have really decided what it wants to be when it grows up. Its pleasant enough & C seemed to be determined to sell me the city (as in, ‘if we had to move here it wouldn’t be so bad, eh?’), which is true. Not sure I want to volunteer for this, but if that’s what fate has in stall for us, then I’d be relatively happy. Not sure about the brand-new ultramodern futuristic European housing estates though (mass-produced, rank after rank of identical houses as far as the eye can see), but there is more in the way of local noodle restaurants in city centre & also the place is actually above sea level, so, there are positive things going for it. No direct flights to Leeds though, which is a serious flaw.

Sunday evening was a bit on the lousy side, sadly; we got a phone call from Dr Dr Maidens, which left us all depressed. After this, I then found that I’ve lost my Turn 3 BNW notes, which is the straw that’s broken the camels back as far as I’m concerned - it says its corrupt & cannot be read. Which is TOO MUCH. I’ve had enough of f**king around with this & I’ve decided that I’m going to kill the game.

I know that I said that I would continue with at least one more turn, but I don’t have the time to write now that 3 temps have been got rid of in the office & I’m just increasingly frustrated with having to wrestle with MS Office at home. Every. Single. G*D DAMN TIME. Moreover, I’m enjoying Eve (it doesn’t crash on me & I can blow off steam & its cooperative) and the Dutch course starts in a few weeks time so. F**k it. It was fun. Now its dead.
