Amsterdam is fortunately still standing, and not, as might be surmised from last nights panic, sitting under 30 feet of sea-water. At least, not that I’ve noticed. In fact, it seems to be a rather pleasant afternoon out there; a bit blustery, certainly, but nowhere near the pitch-black-with-sideways-driving-rain-and-winds-that-knock-you-over that it was yesterday. Most of the office went home at about 3-30 / 4pm yesterday due to some sort of delays on the train; any excuse, eh? Having said that, I went home via the train station & there were thousands of bored looking people sat around the place, waiting for their train home.

Meanwhile, back in the office, I’m having an attack of “I really cant be ars3dness”; in my defence, a lot of the tasks I’ve got to do are dependent upon the computer system which is up & down like a frakking* yo-yo. It was meant to be sorted by 8am on Monday the 9th January, but noooo – still a host of IT problems that mean that all the projects I’ve got are sat firmly on the back-burner. Not - I hasten to add - that there’s nothing to do, or in fact that we cant work around the issues (which we can & are doing) – but there seem to be little enthusiasm in the department in doing work-rounds to something that will be solved by tomorrow. Honest. No, really, we mean it this time.

Tonight, C & I plan on going to the Easylaughs improvisation show (http://www.easylaughs.nl/); €10 per head for something like 4 hours of cracking entertainment; I just hope that the weather holds off.

* Why yes, I am tempted to get Season 2 Battlestar Galactica for my birthday in 4 days time. How did you know?
