Could you just...
Feb. 1st, 2007 12:41 pmI hate those people who come up to me & utter the words 'could you just', as immediately after is a demand that is so colossal that it beggars belief.
Todays 'could you just' came about when I was about to go on my lunch. I've been here since 7-15am, working on month-end tasks & I've been asked to do something that, in all probability will take me several weeks to achieve. I've got the month-end report due Monday to a) manually write in full because the access queries I've written aren't working due to the new computer system & b) follow up the *7 pages* of action points from Decembers meeting. I've got to get everything ready for tomorrows 7-15am start, because the IT system fell over last night.
Aside from that, I've got to speak with the solicitors to agree to employ them in dealing with my new house, arrange some time off to sign the provisional contact with the estate agent on the house, go & buy Carole some birthday presents & about a quintillion other essential things to do.
But this one is such a small & trivial thing that has got to be done immediately. No, it can wait until the end of the day.
