Wednesdays thoughts
Apr. 25th, 2007 12:17 pmSo far I’ve discovered that the 7-52am train from Hilversum can get me in at 8-35am, assuming that I’m prepared to:
a) Be at the train station for 7-52
b) Am prepared to change trains twice
c) Am prepared to use ju-jitsu to get onto said trains, as they get very packed indeed.
But still, its good to know that I now have an option that works adequately well. Its probably a bit stressful to be a perfect solution – but its working.
Tomorrow, the travel experiment enters the final phase in that I’m taking the 8-01 train to Utrecht to get to work. The internet travel planner claims that this will get me to work in 45-ish minutes, with only 1 change – but it still seems wrong; taking the slow train, in the wrong direction that departs after the 7-52 fast train in the right direction cant get me to work at pretty much the same time, surely?
In other news, C has given me permission to play on the internet on Thursdays for the next week or so* – but I’d like to ask whether we could change this to Monday, if possible? C is away in Amsterdam on Monday nights & this would give me considerably more freedom to play, y’see… Either way, I’m looking forward to Thursday – assuming that I manage to get the ventrilo details, that is!
Lastly, I am glad to see that scientists have found what could be the first terracompatible world outside of the solar system. The only thing we need to do now is develop a warp drive / jump drive / hyperdrive** or find a convenient stargate/wormhole/plot device** to get there in a reasonably time, other than – say – 80,000 years.
