Must… resist… updating….
Jul. 11th, 2007 01:32 pmNo, no good. Got to post. Sad, really.
Yesterday we went out for a meal with the Hash-House-Harriers in central Amsterdam at a Thai restaurant called ‘The White Elephant’.; it was very good & definitely is included on the ‘top 5 eating establishments I’ve ever been in’. When people are over, please remind me of this as it was great & I’d like an excuse to go there again. Thanks.
On the way home we had a series of peculiar co-incidental meetings. Firstly with one of Caroles friends from UPS, then with a friend of mine from my company, then with a mutual friend from Hilversum. All on a train home at 11-13pm. They say that it was a co-incidence, but I think that its just more evidence of the global conspiracy against me.
Today we have Rosie in the country. Tomorrow we have Alex(ander) & Rinnike coming over for boardgames, Friday we have nothing arranged, except house cleaning – which is good given that it’s the last day of quarter-end (oddly quiet this time round). Saturday I have a car booked (or not, depending on how badly my computer crashed during the confirmation – something to do with pop-ups being blocked & errors on the page) followed by a board-games afternoon/evening.
In all, its slightly manic.
Also, I noticed this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/07/07/wmass107.xml which is broadly in line with what I thought was going to happen when Benedict became Pontiff (hardly a major feat of prediction, given that he issues a similar document when he was a Cardinal). Personally I think that its good - having a universal service is, to my mind, a good thing - it means that there will always be a service that you can understand, no matter where you are in the world.
On the other hand, I only came across it by accident, thanks to Wikipedias 'in recent events' section. Still, I suppose that I cant blame the mainstream media – they were probably all recovering from the trauma of having Paris Hilton in jail for, what? 48 hours? *rolls eyes in disgust*
