The weekend so far...
Nov. 4th, 2007 12:09 pmSaturday was an interesting & packed day - though it was mainly marked by strange events both electrical, mechanical & non...
Not only was the washing machine misbehaving by turning itself on & off at random intervals & the modem also behaved oddly, loosing the wifi connection. Moreover, when I went to the shop to get a new battery for my watch, we noticed that a) my watch was suddenly & inexplicably working, but b) we couldn't tell the time because C's mobile phone was suddenly & inexplicably not working. Go figure...
In the evening we went to Utrecht, where I discovered civilisation. In the space of 100 paces, there is a LARPing shop, a comics shop, a boardgaming/RPG'ing suppliers shop, another comics/manga shop, an excellent restarunt and a series of pretty fine cafes too. I will try & head back there sooner rather than later, but part of me thinks that its going to be a blind alley when I return!
Of course, the entire weekend was kicked off by a dream I had involving Mavis. In it we were talking about who would win in a fight between Sauron & the Daleks. We couldn't agree on who the victor would be in a fight, because Sauron has magic on his side & is extremely good at manipulation, whilst Daleks would be nearly indestructable (not to mention rightly paranoid about going up against semi-deities since their spat with the Time Lords). Also, Daleks would recognise Sauron as being a being of pure energy (from sci-fi cliches), whilst Dark Lord (on his dark throne etc) would recognise Daleks as some sort of strange Uruk-hai...
As I cant work this out, I'm going to bow to the democratic choice and post a poll.
