Blue Mondays

Well, the weekend was oddly both hectic & boring – the lack of train station (due to work on the line) meant that C & I couldn’t go anywhere, the terrible rain that we didn’t want to anyway whilst the recent return from Atlanta meant that we really ought to stay in & do housework. Added to the mix, of course, is the fact that C is unwell, which means that the most interesting thing we did (aside from the helter-skelter high-octane excitement that was the ironing) was watch several hours of House over the weekend, whilst trying to ignore the hammering of the rain on the roof…

 

And then I did my CPD return on Sunday as it continued to rain, and rain and rain. After much procrastination in then wan half-light of the sodden day, I decided to do the return using the ‘per unit’ method, which took longer than the alternative; I could have simply ticked the box that says ‘I work for an ACCA approved employer, so I don’t need to do a CPD return’ and then sent it in, but as I’m leaving said approved employer and I’ve got a lot of training hours I would loose it would put me at a disadvantage next year when I have to do my 2008 return. Very sensible. Very mature. Very dull. God help me.

 

On the plus side, I am going to be taking full advantage of the fact that I now have my laptop & will be working from home on Thursday & Friday this week. I look forward to getting up at 8-45 and being ‘at work’ for 9, but C, I am sure, is going to want to kill me by Friday, as I will be invading her personal space…!
