A brave new world
Nov. 22nd, 2010 01:20 pmWe have completed the 20-week scan and find ourselves in uncharted territory - not, I hasten to add, due to any detected problems, but because Daniel is healthy and hearty and looks to be a perfect example of what a 20-week old feotus should be.
Which means that we've passed the point of divergence that we experienced with Katie; no doom and gloom, no numbing sense of impending disaster - instead more a realisation that we can actually see this through and emerge relatively sane, with the hope still alive.
And now, perhaps, we should start to really feel the hope, instead of lapsing into wordless terror when we cant hear a heartbeat - only to be relieved a fraction of a second later, when it turns up again.
Life is good.
Very very tired at the wonderful, wonderful news.
