What I did on my weekend
Feb. 20th, 2006 09:18 amWell, its Monday. I am officially 83kg, so that’s a loss of a kilo since last weeks weigh in. Personally I suspect that it’s the weight getting bored with me and deciding to see if its more fun on (say) the cat – but as neither Lyra nor C appear to have put weight on (and C has lost some), I don’t know where its lurking. Behind the sofa or something, waiting for someone to pass by, and then blob! Instant beer gut.
That’s my explanation, at any rate. Its better than the ‘you’re over eating’ I think.
Saturday saw C & I spend some quality time together; first we went to the swimming pool just around the corner and enjoyed the delights of the water-slide, the wave machine, the steam cabinets and the jacuzzi pool; a very pleasant evening was had doing sweet F.A. and just spending some time with her (as far as I’m aware; she might have had the most miserable afternoon of her life – but I hope not). After that Carole made home-made sushi, which was very nice and I’d eat it again) but we ran out of soy sauce, so the wasabi was particularly undiluted & eye-wateringly hot. After that, we watched ‘The Full Monty’ and ‘Calendar Girls’ with people taking their clothes off for assorted reasons. Pretty good, all told.
On Sunday, C spent the day away at the Hash in Amsterdam & leaving me free to complete the returns; it took several hours solid work on it, both all day yesterday (& also on Friday night, whilst C was returning from the UK) but its principally out of the way, though it is littered with spelling mistakes & grammatical errors. In my defence, the errors are (on re-re-re-re-reading) now apparent to me, but when writing it, it seemed as though I was the font of the English language. How wrong I was!
What else? We’ve been invited to the wedding of Owen and Susan in Essex in a few weeks (months?) time. I suspect we weren’t on the wedding invite list until we sprang Owen from Zwolle police station the weekend before last, but it seems that our good deed isn’t going to go unpunished and I personally am looking forward to going over. Also, I think that looking at where it is, its going to be easier to speak with Jon and see if I can arrange overnight accommodation in Cambridge & then pootle off. Must remind myself to do this. And possibly take some extra time off too so that I can spend time / play games with them all!
Right then. I’d better get on with these Access queries!
