Its Wednesday
Feb. 22nd, 2006 04:58 pmI’m approaching several essential deadlines that I need to get completed fairly darn soon:
My Dutch tax return. I have to get this completed & submitted by the end of the month. As I have yet to start this I am in something of a pickle about this, especially as its actually rather time consuming. I dont *think* that its going to be a problem (other people have reported this & I've got PriceWaterhouseCoopers doing my returns for me) but it is preying on my mind, as I dont seem to have time to ever do it.
Health insurance. Its odd how something things suddenly become more important, but my health insurance has been gnawing at me recently - mainly because I want to move to the same scheme as Caroles for the simple reasons that its cheaper, covers more & has no annual excess charges. However, I have to move to the scheme by the end of next week (ie one week this Friday) as otherwise I'm legally obliged to remain on my existing scheme for another year. Also, I want to move for another reason - C got a card with all her details on it, whilst I got a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy, which was barely legible, looked as though the original document had been rescued from the bin and generally didn't fill me with confidence. I agree its a fairly poor reason, but its a real reason, nonetheless.
Getting the new passport the other day was relatively painless, but, for all those people out there who want to avoid the biometric stuff, I was 'advised' and strongly informed to wait until after April when the first stage of biometric checking was going to be in place. If you want to avoid it, get it done soon - I got the impression that they were going to become increasingly hard to convince from now on.
Friends over tonight & I'm off on Friday. All of which strike me as being 'good things'. I am definitely looking forward to taking a break given the misery of the last few days.
