Monday
Well, we went to Owen & Suzannas wedding and it was wonderful – a really good time was had by all, I’m glad to say. The highlights of the trip (for me) was the wedding in the castle itself, a tour around the historic village, hearing the local conspiracy theory about Shakespeare (or ‘the Stratford man’ as they lovingly refer to him) and also the very nice (British) beer, which was plentiful and free. Hooray.
The only downsides were the hangovers that Carole and I both had yesterday, and (for me) the fact that I’m now clipping 86 kilos. Gah. I’m fairly confident that I can get back to the 83-84 kilo range in the coming week, because, when I weighed myself on Thursday (pre-wedding), I was at 83, so, well, I doubt that I’ve put on 3 – 4 kilos in the space of 3 days! Also, today is the 1st May, meaning that it’s the official start of the running training. Gah. With any luck & a vast amount of superhuman dedication, I’ll be going running 4 days a week from now on. And tap-dancing gerbils will whisk me off on to an all expenses paid holiday in Manilla, no doubt.
Right then. I suppose that I’d better get back on with it. I want to meet my new boss & see is shes transformed from ‘this person I know & get on well with’ to ‘my boss & don’t you forget it’, which is always a danger with promotions…
