Bah.

Carole is going to be away for the next 2 days (pretty much back midnight tomorrow) visiting both new team-mates & assorted factories around the Netherlands. On one hand, I’m happy for her in that shes now got a project that actually has interest for her (shes buzzing and excited about her new role), but on the other hand, the next month or so is going to be difficult to get through with quarter end on the cards & C probably going to be doing a lot of travel, so I’m going to miss her.. The sensible part of me (probably the lint in my navel) points out that shes probably going to end up doing marginally less travel than she does already to-ing and fro-ing between Leeds and Amsterdam on a regular basis, so, who knows, she might actually get to spend an entire week sleeping at home in future…!

I watched the BBC production on King Charles last night (on Dutch tv) & I have to say its very good.; I caught snippets of it when it first came out; I think that it was originally on when I was relocating over here last year and I’m glad that I’ve managed to catch it properly this time. The series has just got up to the Great fire of London and the episode ended with a close-up of Halleys comet. Its well acted and really rather addicting. During the breaks, I watched portions of the England-Sweden match last night in German (because it wasn’t on the BBC or the Dutch tv channels). I found it not bad. Especially when the people kicked the ball around. Um. Very pretty.

In other news, the weather here is horrid. I mean, really bad, with constant low-grade rain and general miserable-dampness in the air. I feel right at home! Progress was also made on the returns, with me now having ‘all but one’ done & dusted. With any luck & assuming no computer death, I might even be able to send them out…

...done & sent out.

Computer 'work-around' done by working for 20 minutes, saving everything, turning computer off, leaving everything for 20 minutes & then repeating.

Welcome to the gleaming high-tech future...
