A hectic Friday night
Feb. 16th, 2007 10:56 pmC is unwell; we think that shes caught man-flu, because shes in a really bad way. All the symptoms are present; a truly pathetic countance, wandering around the house in an apathetic way, howls of attention-seeking, slight sniffles, perhaps a trace of a mild temperature - the works. Its man 'flu, alright. As any man knows, man flu can be lethal to women*, so I'm a mite concerned for her.
In other news, Lyra has got a lump under her chin. We dont know what it is except that a) its large, b) its a lump & c) it wasn't there about a week ago. I've been instructed by C (between repeated drawing of her last breath before she finally flatlines) that I've got to find a vet, to make sure that L is checked out asap.
So far the best I've been able to find is an 'alternaive medicine' vets, that specialises in accupuncture.
Ok, I'm an old-fashioned guy, whos parents & grandparents were doctors, but, even compensating for the 'you what?' factor, thats just plain crazy. Which idiot thought that accupuncture for cats was a sensible idea? You'd have your arm torn off & buried in a pile of kitty-litter before you could say 'OWMYFU*KINGARM***'...
Here's the link: http://www.alternatievediergeneeskunde.nl/index.htm. Just click on the Methodes tag to get to the treatments, or just jump direct to the accupuncture page: http://www.alternatievediergeneeskunde.nl/acupunctuur/acu-1.htm
Those whacky Dutch. Go figure. Must be all that supportive upbringing or something.

** Carole has been away recently, so I've not been around to do the honourable thing & catch it for her.
***In Dutch, obviously.
