Mondays update is full & long

Here in Amsterdam we have a tradition that marks the start of spring; other countries have the first bluebird of the year: here we had the first 3am mosquito attack of the year. What fun.

 

Of course, what Mother Nature gives, she also takes-away; the fact that its snowing heavily outside is going to play havoc with the current crop of mosquitoes. Ha! Fear me & my temperature-maintaining metabolism, wingéd bloodsuckers! Mammals triumphed over the dinosaurs, so what chance do you have?*

In other news

 

1)     Weight 88 kilos – a slight increase. Bad bad bad.

2)     C managed to burn her fingers yesterday by picking up a hot bowl that had come straight from the oven. There was a very troublesome point where it looked as though she had burned every single digit on both hands, but fast application of ice water & medical sprays seems to have reduced this down to only her index finger on the left hand, which is something of a miracle, especially as we don’t really know where casualty is over here. Personally, I wish that she would learn about hot things causing pain & blisters!
