Interesting conversations

Just had a conversation with my managers manager. He went out of his way to reassure me that my recent evaluation is the result of several minor - yet bloody irritating - mistakes that I had made a crucial times. 

Fair comments.

I've come away from it feeling fairly happy about the entire situation; I've been reassured that they dont think that I'm a lousy employee and that this problem can be reviewed & resolved in the next month or so - meaning that I'm still in with a chance of getting my pay award.

Which is nice.

Also, greatly enjoyed DoW last night.

Now if only I had:

a) a copy of the game (we're talking "Guild Wars" here, rather than any expansion like - say - Guild Wars: Nightfall, or somesuch?*)
b) a working internet connection for the foreseeable future (see previous posts)
c) time to play it (HA!)
d) a significantly better graphics card**, and,
e) another beer

I'd be playing.

*This is not a stupid question. I got stung over DoW - Dark Crusade, so I'm just checking my facts here.

**System specs are: Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 500, Hard Drive: 40 Gig (with 13 Gig empty), Chip: AMD Athlon Xp 2100 1.7 GHz, 1.5Gig Ram. My machine can ONLY JUST cope with DoW, despite the fact that my computers drivers are current & I've got most of the features turned off, plus a regular defragmenting of mg computers hard drive. Even so, I still get a lot of stutter whilst playing & have yet to see the opening sequence for Dow - though it sounds very interesting & I occasionally get the odd still-shot... 

So what do people suggest? My thoughts turn to a new graphics card, with details & ' go here & buy it' internet link in the "I'm a penny-pincher" price-range, cos I'm a skinflint when it comes to computers & games...
