Last night was great; to celebrate our anniversary, we went to a local restaurant and enjoyed a 3-course meal, with a bottle of excellent wine, plus coffees. The service was perfect, the ambience excellent & we savoured the meal over a delicious 2 and a bit hours. Heaven.
Tragically, whilst I’m extremely impressed by the meal, ambience & general quality of the place (and will definitely go there again, with a spring in my step & a rumble in my stomach), the price was sufficiently high to mean that the quest to find for the local gastropub continues. Which means that I’ve got to continue visiting other culinary establishments in Hilversum & weigh how much they cost against a complex matrix that rates taste of food, quality of food & service, quantity of food etc against the ultimate financial cost. In fact, I really ought to do this several times, just to be absolutely sure.
Oh the humanity.
