Thursdays Update

First, a public service announcement: C is away tonight, so I’m available for Guild Wars. I should be online from about 9pm my time, which is 8 UK time, assuming that all things are working fine - which they might not be as my BRAND F**KING NEW computer crashed on me TWICE last night...

 

Aside from the endless source of aggrivation that is high technology, I’ve just come out of the meeting with my manager about my development & progress following the less than decent outcome of my yearly review. The meeting was very friendly & the goals that I have to achieve both limited & definitely achievable. In fact, the bulk of the meeting was taken up with ‘explaining my side’ – most of which was sympathetically received. I'm further heartend by the fact that we both think that the reassessment should be ‘around the next quarter end’ – ie mid July next. So, I’m hopeful that things will come together then. Its looking good; there's a lot to do, but it is looking positive.

 
Lastly, I'm tempted to arrange a weekend back in the UK in a few weeks time - I'm thinking of 'around the end of May / start of June' but really I need to check with C to find out when I have an available weekend in my calendar! I suspect that it might be a geek-out arrangement, as I dont think that C can join me, but I thought I'd give you heads-up before any flights were booked...
