A quick update on life, the universe & everything. Life continues to be good, if somewhat occasionally excessively interesting (this morning, I had to make emergency changes to several entities because the consolidation jobs failed. Irrespective of whether this makes any sense to you, ‘it was stressful’ sums it up). Aside from this, the month-end stresses are now (I hope) resolved, and (so far) the month-end has been relatively quiet – so much so that I even got to watch the end of Dr Who series 2 the other day thanks to the miracle of BBC3. Very good. Daleks taunting Cybermen. Fun.
Outside of work, we’re gradually getting things sorted. C managed to register us with the local doctor (after being in the place for almost 5 months now. Doesn’t time fly??? I couldn’t believe it when C told me this the other day…). We’ve also arranged trips – firstly to visit Alex & Rineke in Groeningen & then a reciprocal trip a few weeks later. The plans for the house warming (22nd September) are progressing, and I got to speak with my mum for about an hour yesterday. The potted summary is that there’s no real news, other than Venice was utterly superb & everyone really enjoyed it. Sadly, Lucy’s eyesight remains poor & shows no sign of improvement, but she seems to be relatively content about life at present & is working her notice at her current company. I’m not sure what shes going to do afterwards, but that’s another story & I’ll let you know when I find out.
Whilst on the topic of personal injury & disfigurement, the moustache seems to be growing with both determination & aplomb; I’ll try & upload a picture tonight (oddly enough I don’t have my digital camera with me at present), but its now got a noticeable structure – I may even have to trim it. On this note, I’m going to be boring & include the link to the charity donation website, to hopefully guilt-trip some of you into making a donation.
