Disjointed Notes & Points

C & I have decided to move our housewarming, so if you were planning on making a surprise visit to us this coming weekend, then you’re a) more than welcome & b) going to be a bit early!

 

There are several reasons for this event being moved - but the main one is that we’re still recovering from last week. Holidays are fun, but there is always a legacy of catch-up work that has to be done. And, of course, there are other factors, such as: the fact that I didn’t send out invites to people at my work; several people who we would have liked to have had over couldn’t make it & also the fact that C is away on training for most of this week & whilst I’m on the build-up to quarter-end. So its not happening and we’re taking a break. 

We’re going to take our time about it and get it done at some other point, probably nearer the end of October – perhaps tying it in with a Halloween party?

In other news, I’ve got to get a birthday card for my brother as he’s mumble years old this Friday; moreover, I've been phoned by my mum to make sure that I dont forget, so I Have Been Warned.

 

The idiots at Amsterdam Central are going out of their way to make me a consistent 30 minutes late – thanks to trains being cancelled, running slow or generally being messed around with. This mornings fun was an attack of random sign-ess in the station, where the details on the information boards (time, destination etc) would change every few seconds, causing much hesitation & anxiety amongst the passengers. Though, to my shame, I did snap at one of my fellow travellers; there was a crush of people trying to get on, when an idiot of a woman stopped dead in the door and started to rummage through her bags, blocking about 30 people behind her. As I’d been waiting for 20 minutes to get on, I couldn’t stop the “GET OUT OF MY WAY” that escaped my lips. Rather rude, certainly, but definitely heart-felt. And well deserved.
