The insurance money from the car finally turned up, and it is now sat in the bank. Hooray, hooray, hooray. Little does the insurance company know that I bought the car for £250 and got a pay-out of £775 (even taking off the excess), so I’m rather happy with it all. Watch this space for further details of “how long my car lasts” cos I’m not getting one for at least 6 months now - though I’m now taking basic precautions such checking the air & oil (in the correct locations) and I’ve even (to those who went to Pauls bash the other day) going so far as wiring the exhaust back onto the car, so that it doesn’t make strange “clonk” noises when I go over bumps!
What else? Um. Not much. The scuba committee meeting took place on Monday & I foolishly opened my mouth – with the upshot of that I’ve now got to organise a bowling event in Kirkstall sometime in May (if people are interested, then, by coming bowling, we’re thinking of throwing in a try-dive for non BSAC members for only £2-00, which includes all equipment hire, expert instruction and even free resuscitation by our trained instructors, if it goes *especially* wrong...) It’s the pool session tonight & I have to hire out a suit from the local shop – which is going to be rather difficult as I’ve not arranged it so far. So either I’ll be really organised and get there before they close, or I’ll be not diving tonight. I suspect the latter as its final accounts time...
