Its Wednesday. Sort of. In an attempt to return to some levels of normality, Carole and I got up early this morning & ate home made croissants, and, as such, I’m actually in work later than usual, though it was a very pleasant use of a morning, if not a “sustainable use of time”, cos it takes too long to be done routinely. As reported by C, we spent most of yesterday cleaning the house & making lists of what has to be done – I can report that, at present, the house is clean, but there is a scarcity of food within the premises, so I feel a major bike-ride coming on in the fairly near future for me to carry tins. Healthy fun, eh?

Sadly my motivation has gone – I suspect that its something to do with my boss not being in yet, but as I worked until 7:30 last night, and (crucially) left early – I suspect that he’s going to be even more demotivated than I currently am. I’ve done just about all the work I had to do yesterday, and I’ve got stacks more to be done, but I really cant be bothered; though I suspect this mood will lift and I’ll get stuck in within the next 5 - 10 `coffees.

In other, more positive news, Carole and I have discovered that we are now verging on being solvent – the (vast) moving expenses we’ve racked up & are currently sat on the credit card can now be paid off with relative impunity; we might be living off beans for the next few weeks, but a) following Christmas / New Year’s excesses, that’s a good thing & b) the sooner we pay it off the better for my mental health, cos I fret about money.

Lastly – in news that is both good & bad - the UK bank has been contacted & the mortgage has been arranged to go from the bank account that actually has some money in it, rather than the one that doesn’t. This is good as it means that I don’t have to go to the UK in person to rearrange this – but bad as it means that we wont be in the UK in January. So, all those conversations about how “I might be in Leeds in January” have come to naught, which is both a shame and also going to assist me in my quest to stop drinking! Apologies, but I’ll keep you informed as to when I’ll next be over.
