Life Update
Aug. 21st, 2006 12:10 pmA big thanks to everyone who I saw over the weekend – I had an excellent time, from the wine / pizza/ boardgames on Friday night, to being over at Matts on Saturday, to Fuji Hiros on Sunday. I felt “much loved” by the sheer number of people who turned up. So many thanks.
Also, an honourable mentions to Matt for coming to rescue me when I discovered I was locked out of Mavis’s house (causing much confusion in telephone calls) & generally acting as taxi, ferrying me around. Sadly, the trip didn’t meet every one of the goals I had set myself, in that I was utterly incapable of finding any lemon bonbons. Such are the crosses we have to bear, I suppose.
On Saturday night, Matt, Zoë & I also came up with a few ideas for some new games: a murder mystery set on the Galactica fleet & another (much more developed one) set in the Fairy realms. This one definitely has legs, as it really came together – though its probably a single 10 hour session, assuming that people are available. I really miss just chucking ideas around for games, its so much fun. We also came up with other random ideas, including a memorable quote from Oscar Wildes “1984” (written in 1894, obviously): “To be tortured once by the state might be seen as a misfortune, twice can only be self-indulgence”
Lastly, after some discussion from C, I can confirm that I am ‘Go’ for Eve. I’ve got a lot to do to get ready, but I’m in – at least for the foreseeable future. I should be ready by Tuesday next week.
Oh yeah. The weight remains at 85 kilos, which is good thanks to the beer & pizza over the last 72 hours.
