I am an idiot – on waking up at 7am, I decided to reset my alarm close so that I could snooze for a while longer. I went back to bed, expecting a 30 minutes of restful sleep… only to rouse myself at 9-11, having had 2 and a bit hours of extra sleep as I had turned my alarm back 2 hours, rather than marginally forward. I then proceeded to set records in terms of dressing, shaving, feeding cats & being out the house by 9-15, making it to work by 9-30. Since then, the day has been sort of vague & nebulous, as though I’m still activating sections of my mind; I was in a training meeting and I could not focus on things – everything was haloed & blurry. Fun.
In other news, C & I have talked about properties & our combined sentiments are “we’ll take a look at this fixer-upper of a house on Friday, but we’re really not very interested”, so barring us discovering non-transportable & immediately obvious buried treasure in the garden that the owners hadn’t noticed, we’re not remotely interested. Still, it will serve to help get an idea of the location & style of the grossly overpriced building that we’re not interested in. On the other hand, we’ve made arrangements to go & look at a semi-decent property.
Its pretty much the same structure as our old place in Leeds (they all seem to follow this layout for some reason) but with (again) kitchen issues. The Dutch just don’t go in for kitchens – in fact it’s rare to have an oven & most houses make do with a hob & that’s it (something that will be changed toot sweet, after we’ve moved in!). Anyway, it’s a definite maybe (a known unknown) & we’re going to look at it one week this Saturday & see what we think.
