Well, in a few hours time, I shall be winging my way to the UK. Naturally, I feel as though I’m coming down with a cold, my head aches, my eyes feel gritty & I feel as though I could sleep for a decade. Also, the weather is miserable; solid grey skies, rain. Drizzly thin grey rain. Bleh.

 

Still, I suspect that the excitement of getting on a plane will solve all these problems; I appreciate that, for some of you – C included – an airplane is simply a glorified tubular bus, but its not to me. To my mind, flying retains a hint of that long-promised future world of cities on the moon, flying cities & hoverbikes in that it involves being sealed into a futuristic metal dart & then being propelled into the air by the power of eldritch forces, harnessed through “Science!”* On some level, I still expect to hear a pre-launch countdown from mission-control as the engines, er, activate. Or whatever it is that engines do.

 

Assuming that both we & our luggage survive the aerotranslocation, we’ll be in Fuji’s for sometime between 1pm & 1-30pm tomorrow, mainly for noodles, but also company, social chit-chat & arranging “stuff”, assuming that these are on the menu. Plans as to what to do & what peoples availability are can be discussed over some of Fuji’s finest.

 

The only other semi-fixed plan is to meet up for Sunday lunch near Grampus’ house. Currently we’re thinking of ‘about 1-30’ at the Earl Carvery – assuming that we can get there. Plans will have to be arranged with Allie / Grampus / Iola so that we can get there…

 

I’m also going to be sending Grampus & Mavis my Uk mobile phone number, should people want to get in contact with me. Conveniently – of course – I’ve left it at home today, which is a pain in el backsido.
